Our favorite place to stay in Provence!

Recently, we went to France.  Most of our time was spent in the South but we also spent time in Paris.  Our first stop was a village called Apt which is home to Saint Anne's Cathedral (mother of the Virgin Mary) and also the candied fruit and confits center.  Our friend Corey (Tongue in Cheek), suggested we stay at La Madone.  La Madone was a monastery and is now owned by Nathalie and Jean-Bernard.  They have remodeled and rennovated several apartments that are absolutely fabulous!  There is no better place to stay and you could never find people more caring and hospitable.  Check their website at www.lamadone.net.  Apt was our base for exploring the South.

Each morning, Nathalie or Jean-Bernard would deliver French press coffee, hot milk, fresh croissants, chocolate croissants, baguettes, orange juice, Normandy butter and homemade jams.  Perfect start to each day for us.

This is the view from our window on the top floor of La Madone.  To awake each day to such a lovely sight is wonderful.

Directly across the street from La Madone is a bakery and you smell fresh bread every morning and afternoon.   There is nothing better than a fresh baguette.......  I do miss that.
